Facilities

The Saint-André-Avellin site

The main building was put into operation in April 2020. QcGoldtech recently acquired the facility buildings, which were previously leased.

The facilities sit on 10 acres of fenced land.

The main building, constructed in 2007 and expanded in 2010, is 34,184 square feet, and includes a state-of-the-art water treatment centre that can treat all the water used. The facilities and amenities of this former slaughter- house, including refrigeration rooms and computer systems, are perfectly suited for cannabis processing, and required little additional investment.

Given its previous function and with the modifications made, the facility complies with Health Canada’s strict standards of cleanliness, sanitation and safety.

The Saint-André-Avellin facilities are used primarily for the operations of drying, packaging and labelling of the dried flowers and the other products derived from both the Notre-Dame- de-la-Paix and Bouchard Island sites. Large freezers are used to store the cannabis until it is processed and ready to be put on the market.

In addition, QcGoldtech’s cutting-edge equipment, most of which is manufactured in Quebec, strengthens the onsite teams, production capacity, and the network of local companies.

The Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix site

The building currently belongs to a subsidiary of Groupe Jafaco Gestion Inc., QcGoldtech’s second shareholder.

This site was put into operation in June 2020 and is located 10 kilometres from the Saint- André-Avellin site.

Prior to being converted, the recently redeveloped facilities were used to store potatoes.

This explains the unique design, which is located partially underground to ensure the freshness required for any agricultural production. This building was remodeled, expanded, and modernized to become suitable for the indoor cultivation of cannabis and to meet Health Canada’s strict standards. The renovations were completed in the spring of 2020.

The facilities are currently used for the cultivation of mother plants and the development of clones that are then transported to the outdoor site
for planting.

In 2021, the company grew 39,000 plants, and it is now aiming to seed 160,000 plants in the summer of 2022.
The company has all the necessary authorizations, security clearances, and infrastructure to safely move its products to and from its various sites.

The Bouchard Island site

The main production site is outdoors and is in the middle of the majestic St. Lawrence River on Bouchard Island, opposite the municipality of Saint-Sulpice. It was put into operation in early July 2020.

There are 900 acres of cultivable land on this agricultural island. In 2020, 50 acres was devoted to the cultivation of cannabis. In 2021, another 50-acres adjacent to the first one was put into operation. QcGoldtech grew a total of 39,000 cannabis plants of 19 different cultivars.

Once ready, all the Bouchard Island production is transported under close surveillance in unmarked trucks escorted by former police officers to the Outaouais facilities for drying and processing.

Evidently, QcGoldtech has all the necessary authorizations, security clearances, and infra- structure to ensure the production of cannabis on Bouchard Island: there is no bridge connecting the island to the St. Lawrence shoreline, the facilities are fenced off, and security cameras, drones and security guards provide 24/7 surveillance from the beginning of cultivation until the end of the harvest.
